The TJ Pro V is Taylor Jensen's longboard designed to excel in everyday conditions. When Taylor and Dan Mann started the design process, the guidelines were simple: make it fast, loose and free. Make a longboard that’s all about making surfing fun in a wide range of conditions without compromising performance.

What came out of years of testing and refining is the TJ Pro V: an all conditions fun-formance longboard that excels in average 2-6' surf.

The DNA of the Pro V is rooted in the TJ Pro, with tweaks to optimize performance in average surf. It has a lower rocker profile to make paddling and skating across soft flat sections easy, and a wider nose for more stability on the tip. The squash tail and the added spiral V out the tail allows for more release and makes it easier to lean into tighter turns and feel loose under foot. Can be ridden in either as a quad or a Two Plus One, making this an incredibly versatile longboard.

This is Taylor Jensen's performance longboard model designed to work well in poor-to-average conditions, perfect in 2-3' beachbreak surf. TJ went to world-class shaper Dan Mann for something a bit flatter, faster, and doesn't need as much wave to push it - something that excels in the flat sections and gutless surf.

This everyday performance longboard was designed to be a bit looser than the TJ Pro to unlock a bit more fun. The shape has a bit more nose area than the TJP to skim across the flats to noseride easier, a bit more drastic double concave to speed things up through flat sections, and also a Quad fin configuration option. Taylor says, "Quads are one of the most fun fin setups for longboards, and this configuration makes things super loose and free and makes your longboard feel like a much shorter board."

About Volcanic Construction:

Volcanic Tech is made from Basalt Fibers Extruded from Volcanic Rocks that are crushed, melted and extruded into woven fibers that make up the cloth. The manufacture of basalt fiber requires the melting of the crushed and washed basalt rock at about 1,500 °C (2,730 °F). The molten rock is then extruded through small nozzles to produce continuous filaments of basalt fiber. Those filaments are then chopped into long stem fibers and woven into lamination cloth fiber. The cloth has similar characteristics to carbon as it relates to strength and weight however because the fibers are derived from Organic Raw materials, when combined with Bio Resins it serves as better degradable ECO alternative than using traditional carbon fiber cloth.

Basalt fiber is a relative newcomer to fiber reinforced polymers (FRPs) and structural composites. It has a similar chemical composition as glass fiber but has better strength characteristics, and unlike most glass fibers is highly resistant to alkaline, acidic and salt attack making it a good candidate for surfboard manufacturing.

Compared to carbon and aramid fiber, it has the features of wider application temperature range -452° F to 1,200° F (-269° C to 650° C), higher oxidation resistance, higher radiation resistance, higher compression strength, and higher shear strength.

The cloth can withstand high temperatures unlike carbon fiber and as a result is heavily used the Aerospace industry in the creation of rockets and and jet engines. The elasticity characteristics of this fiber is higher than that of traditional Carbon fiber allowing the board to have more flex for a natural feel under foot.

Firewire's patent pending I-Bolic core technology is an engineering feat developed for performance, without the need for external carbon layups or heavy laminations.

These models offer the stiffness of Linear Flex Technology (LFT) with the flex and spring-back of our best-selling Helium technology. This is Kelly Slater's favourite technology to ride, offering speed, control, strength and response.

I-Bolic cores have the stiffness of Firewire's old Linear Flex Technology (LFT) with the flex and spring-back of our best-selling Helium technology. The I-beam ensures firmness underfoot and unparalleled break strength, while the high density foam parabolic rails enable flex and recoil through turns.

I-Bolic technology is a 1.5 lb EPS foam core with a 18mm high density foam stringer in the core, 16mm high density foam parabolic rails to control flex, and a 5mm high density foam springer on the bottom. Paired with our standard fiberglass lamination, on the deck it has a 3mm high density composite deck skin on the deck sandwiched between the double 4 oz E fiberglass cloth layers, and also has double 4 oz E fiberglass capping the bottom.
